Gustave Levin, the chairman of Perrier, had a problem. The Socialist Party vowed to nationalize his company after the upcoming election. They were forecast to win.
His solution was to find new markets. He took $300K of his own money and started an off-shore company here: Great Waters of France, to buy water from himself.
Warren was hired because of his marketing chops and French fluency. Warren wrote the business plan, tying an all-natural sparkling water to good health. He guided the execution using marketing tactics in new ways:
-- PR had a big role as we rolled-out the brand nationally.
-- Tie-in to running events nationwide, including sponsorship of the first NYC Marathon
-- Outdoor bus shelter ads in NYC.
Results?
-- Sales exploded pulling us into new markets
-- The company had to quadruple its bottling plant
-- Competitors charged into the market.
We knew we were successful when investigative TV shows wrote about us.
Please Note: Warren did not write this ad. He wrote the business and GTM plans.
Warren speaks French. He was hired to launch Perrier Water when store managers would ask 'why would anyone buy bottled water?!'
